Punch Art Flower Card

Punch art large flower card

This is a card I designed using the ideas shared with demonstrators at Stampin' Up! Convention this year by the lovely Ngaire Anderson.  Ngaire demonstrated some ways to use our Stampin' Up! punches in different ways and created this lovely flower using the 2 oval punches.

I used the the stunning Raspberry Tart designer series papers to make this flower, teamed with rose red and kiwi kiss card.

You will also notice the side of the card has an interesting closure.  Ngaire also showed us this.  She used the scallop edge punch to create a hole in the edge of the card that you can thread a strip of card through so it keeps the card closed (Brilliant!).  I have wrapped the strip of card around the entire card then into the slot.

Here is a closer look:

I really liked that I could use my scallop edged punch in a different way. It makes my tools seem so much more valuable to me if they are versatile.

All of the products used to make this card are Stampin' Up! products and are available to purchase through me.  Just email if you would like to order anything.  jocam_wassens@hotmail.com

Circle circus poppin pastel cards July 09

This is the other card design you could make if you attend my card making classes this month.  I have classes scheduled for Wednesday 29th July at 10am and 7.30pm, in McGraths Hill, Sydney.  Cost is $20 for 10 cards (5 of this design and 5 of the pick a petal flower design from my post yesterday)

Both of the cards pictured are the same design with a few colour variations.  I have used the lovely versatile set, Circle circus and the poppin pastel technique.

If you have some chalks or Stampin' pastels and would like to know how to use them, why not give me a call and book into my class.  I will be showing 4 different ways to use your chalks.

Here is one of the cards you can make if you attend my classes this month (July 2009).  It is made with the lovely Pick a Petal stamp set and uses the chalkboard technique.

Actually all of the cards you make this month are using chalks (Stampin' Up! pastels) in different ways.

Trendy Trees Masculine Card

Trendy trees card May 09

Here is a card I designed with the new stamp set, Trendy trees!  It is a lovely set, that I got free when I visited Stampin' Up! convention earlier this year.  You always get 1 or 2 free stamp sets when you attend - another great reason to be a demonstrator!  I had the best time at convention, spending time with some of my lovely team, learning heaps and even managing some stamping!

Anyway, back to the card.  The Trendy trees stamp set is a Two step stamping set, so you do need a Stamp-a-ma-jig (a stamp positioner) to use it well.  Click on the word stamp-a-ma-jig to see a tutorial of how to use it.  This will help you position the tree tops on the tree trunks exactly.  I like this set because it can be used for men as well as women, and it's cute!

Here are the details of the card:

Stamps:  Trendy trees, Best yet (level 1 hostess stamp set)

Card:  Baja breeze, chocolate chip, old olive, whisper white

Ink:  Riding hood red, chocolate chip, old olive, so saffron, tangerine tango.

Accessorie:  small tag punch, tag punch, antique brass brad.

I hope you like it too.  Happy Stamping!

Pocket Card!

Holiday treasures pocket gift card May 09

Here is a pocket card I made for my lovely niece, Tarni!

She lives a fair way away from me and so I decided to give her some money for her birthday, instead of spending money on posting a gift.  She is quite happy with this arrangement, as she loves to spend money!!

So, I needed a pretty way to package the money!  This was inspired by a card I saw by Ngaire Anderson, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator of the Year, and one of the lovliest ladies you will ever meet!

Here is the inside of the card, which is also a pocket to hold money, or a gift card:

Holiday treasures pocket gift card open May 09

I have used Holiday Treasures double sided designer series papers to decorate the card and tied it up with the beautiful riding hood red taffeta ribbon.  The circle stamp on the front is from the 'Wow Flowers' stamp set with a flower brad in the centre.

Here is another view:

Holiday treasures pocket gift card side view May 09

I hope Tarni liked it.  I know she will enjoy spending the money inside!

Details:

Stamps:  Wow flowers

Card: Pretty in pink, very vanilla, riding hood red

Ink:  Riding hood red

Accessories:  Holiday treasures designer series papers, flower brad, pretty in pink marker, riding hood red taffeta ribbon, 1 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch.

By the way - I didn't post the card with the money inside.  It was hand delivered by her grandparents who visited her for her birthday.  What a lucky girl!  Hope you had a great birthday Tarni.

Pocket Silhouettes 4 Square Card!

Pocket silhouette 4 square card May 09

Here is a card that I was inspired to create from a swap I received at Stampin' Up! convention from Sue Madex.  Thanks Sue!

I have changed the colours, added patterned paper (the lovely Raspberry Tart) and ribbon and used some punches (eyelet border and small oval) so it is quite a different card now - but the basic sketch of the card is still the same!

This card may be familiar to some of you because you got to create it at my demonstrations in May as your 'make and take'.

If you live within 1 hour of Windsor in Sydney and would like to make a card with your friends as well as be shown the benefits of some Stampin' Up! products, why not book a demonstration with me.  Call me on  45 777 504 or email me at jocam_wassens@hotmail.com to book a date.  It's Free!

This card is also great to remind you that one of the specials for May is on Stampin' Up!s lovely patterned papers.  If you purchase 3 of the chosen packs you get the 4th pack free!  Call or email me to get your order in before 6pm on the 31 May.  You can find all the packs that are included in the special on this page and you can view them in the online catalogue here on pages 132 to 135.

Masculine Card!

Cheers to you male beer card May 09

Here is one of the cards you could have created if you attended my embossing card classes this month.  It is a card especially for the males in your life.  Of course you didn't have to put the beer mugs on your card, you could choose to put leaves on your card instead, if you liked. Because not all our male friends and family like beer, or are they frothy milkshakes?  I'll leave that up to you to decide!

The mugs are actually stamped in versamark ink then embossed with white embossing powder so they are shiny and stand out a little more.  I also used the sanded background stamp which is perfect for male cards.  The stamp set is called 'Cheers to you' and also contains some other types of glasses so is great for lots of occasions.

You still have a few days left to join my Stampin' Up! team for only $150.  Email me or call me on 02 45 777 504 if you are interested.  You need to act quickly if you are, the offer ends on 1 June 2009!

Happy Stamping!

Details:

Stamps:  Cheers to you!, sanded background, basic phrases

Ink:  versamark, close to cocoa, kiwi kiss

Card:  close to cocoa, whisper white, kiwi kiss, baja breeze, basic grey

Accessories:  embossing buddy, heat tool, white embossing powder, 1 3/8 inch square punch, stampin dimensionals.

Sparkly Cupcake Card

Party hearty birthday card for Alice Apr 09

My niece Alice, turned 1 last month so I made her this special card. She lives in Singapore and unfortunately I have not met her in person yet.  Hopefully I will get to meet her soon.  Having family in different countries all around the world does mean we don't get together much, but when we do it is very special indeed.

I wanted the card to be sparkly so I used my new Pink Supa nova glitter from Stampin' Up!  It is just fantastic!  I also embossed the base of the cupcake with white embossing powder to give it a gloss finish.  Some sponging, pink pirouette ribbon and the eyelet border punch finished the card off nicely.

Here is a close up of the cupcake in all it's glory!:

My Convention Swaps 2009

Party hearty conv swaps 09

Here are the actual cards that I made to swap at Stampin' Up! Convention this year.  I started by making about 20 of the one on the left.  My main aim was to make a masculine card, that you could give to your Dad, brother or other male relative or friend.  Then I decided to make a few more swaps and chose so saffron as the new colour.

I recieved some absolutely fantastic swap cards in return for mine - now my sample boards and containers are filled to overflowing with great cards made using Stampin' Up! products.  To see all my new swap cards why not book a demonstration with me or come to one of my card making classes.

Contact me via email on jocam_wassens@hotmail.com or sign up for my newsletter (top left of my site) to find out when my next classes are being held.

Autumn Flair Leaf Card

Autumn flair leaf card Apr 09

Here is another card I made using the new Level 2 hostess stamp set, Autumn Flair.  I have tried for a more masculine card using chocolate chip and kiwi kiss.  This set is a two-step stampin' set as you can see the leaves have a base image and and overlay image stamped on top - to create an impression of more dimension in the images.

I am happy with how it turned out and think it is a card that would be good for most occasions.  I hope you like it too.

Remember if you haven't seen the new 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue yet you can view it online   HERE. You can order products in the catalogue from me at any time if you live within Australia.

OR if you would like to see the products up close and personal - why not book a demonstration with me, if you live in Sydney.  Call me on (02) 45 777 504 if you are interested in finding out more.

Rachel's birthday card!

Party hearty rachel birthday card Apr 09

Continuing on from my last post... Here is a similar card, using the same sketch, that I made for my lovely friend and downline Rachel for her birthday.

I wanted to 'step up' the card and make it more feminine, so I used my brand new Eyelet border punch, It's beautiful wheel, some extra taffeta ribbon, changed the colours and added some glitter, of course.  I couldn't give Rachel a card without glitter - she just loves her bling!  I think she liked it!

Here is a close up, it is difficult to see the glitter - I added it to the centers of the flowers on the background for just a hint of sparkle.

Party Hearty Birthday Card

Party hearty m and t outside Apr 09

This is the third and final make and take from my 'New Catalogue Launch Party' in April.  I couldn't show it to you until now, as this is also the card (or similar to this) that I am making for my swap at convention this year and I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag before the big event!

As I am now on my way to Stampin' Up! Convention (yippee!) I figured it was OK to show you all!

Convention is a yearly event held by Stampin' Up! for all Australian and New Zealand Demonstrators.  It is a wonderful event with lots of classes, make and take sessions, the annual awards dinner and of course a plethora of fabulous demonstrators to spend time with and swap cards with!  I look forward to it each year and this year is no exception.  I am heading to Canberra right now - which is the only negative - the weather is going to be quite a bit colder than Sydney.  I am sure that the warm hearted demonstrators and staff of Stampin' Up! will make it a lovely cosy event though.  I have also packed my winter woollies to combat the cold!

If you would like more information about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator please feel free to email me at jocam_wassens@hotmail.com then you could attend Stampin' Up! convention too and have as much fun as I do.

Anyway back to the card:

Stamps:  Brand new Party Hearty stamp set (a great one for all kinds of birthdays, male, female and children's) Set of 9, page 43 of the Stampin' Up! Idea book and catalogue, polka dot background stamp (page 109)

Ink:  Riding hood red, pacific point (new in colours for 2009!)

A Rose is a Rose Mini Gable Boxes

Mini gable boxes launch Apr 09

These are the gift boxes I gave to every guest that attended my New Catalogue Launch Party earlier this month.  I always try to make these nights very special for my guests - so always give a few special little somethings that I have made for them.

I decorated these mini gable boxes with the brand new rose bud from A rose is a rose stamp set.  A lovely new set that actually has 2 rose bud designs, 1 large rose and a small flower - as well as 2 leaf designs AND a greeting.  All of these are 2 step stamping images so they have a base image and overlay image to ensure they look 3-dimensional and more realistic.  A bargain really including 14 stamps for only $66.95.  It is on page 78 of the Idea Book and Catalogue if you would like to check it out.

Here are some close up shots:

A card and a gift in one!

Autumn flair book mark card Apr 09

This is a card that is also a gift!  The piece on the right hand side of the card can be neatly torn off and used as a bookmark, well after the birthday is over.

The reason it can neatly be torn off is because I have perforated along the edge of the card using the perforating tool from the Stampin' Up! cutter kit and a ruler.  Here is a close up of the perforations and the jumbo eyelet and ribbon at the top of the bookmark:

Autumn flair book mark card close up Apr 09

The cutter kit also has a paper cutter, scorer and a distressing tool - so it is a very versatile addition to you crafting tool kit.  It also comes in a cute little heavy plastic zip lock bag!

Just email me on jocam_wassens@hotmail.com if you would like to add one to your next Stampin' Up! order.

The stamp set I have used on this card is one of the brand new Level 2 hostess stamp sets, Autumn Flair.  It is a lovely set with lots of flower and leaf images which I know I am going to find very useful for a range of different cards.  Stay tuned for more cards made using this set!

Details of card:

Stamps:  Autumn Flair (Level 2 hostess stamp set, page 20 Stampin' Up! Idea book and catalogue), Occasional greetings (page 112)

Card:  Riding hood red (new in colour for 2009), Very vanilla

Ink:  Riding hood red

Accessories:  Cutter kit, ruler, jumbo eyelet, very vanilla 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon, 11/4 inch circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch.

Garden Whimsy, Little girl birthday cards

Garden Whimsy butterfly amethyst card Mar 09

I recently held a card making class for some lovely ladies who were after some 'girly' birthday cards for upcoming birthday parties their daughters would be attending.  This is the card I designed for them.

I used the lovely Garden Whimsy stamp set with colours from the soft subtles colour family.  The scallop edge punch and scallop circle punch added some nice "girly" detail to the card.  Then I finished it all off with some dazzling diamonds glitter because every girl needs a little bling on her card!

Here is a close up of the glitter on the butterfly:

All through the Year Card

All through the year bon voyage card Mar 09

Here is another one of the cards that our guests got to make at my team's Bon Voyage Card Making Night last week.  A simple design but great for any occasion.

It uses the lovely stamp set All through the Year.  A set with 8 different images (flower, acorn, leaves, snowflake, heart, star, butterfly and cherries) that can be used to make a whole range of different cards and projects.

This set is retiring at the end of the month.  Call me or email me if you would like to order it before it is gone for good.  It also has a coordinating flower wheel: garden annuals.

This is the stamp set and wheel I use to decorate my Year of Cards booklet, which many of you may recognise!

Bon Voyage 'Looks Like Spring'

Looks like spring pink gingham card Feb 09

Together with my team, the Creative Stampers, I am holding a 'Bon Voyage' Card Making Night tonight in Quakers Hill to raise money for the Cancer Council.  We have hired a hall and collaborated to offer our guests 10 different cards they can make for $20.  $5 of this is donated to the Cancer Council.

It has been a wonderful team effort and I have really enjoyed working with my team members to create cards and decide all the details of the night.  Above is one of the cards that our guests can make (or very similar!)  There will also be lucky door prizes, great special offers, raffles and light supper.

If you would like to attend nights like this, that we will hold in the future, then sign up for my monthly newsletter (top left box on my website) to be kept informed.

We have created all the cards using retiring stamp sets and products.  This card uses Looks Like Spring stamp set and the matching Spring bouquet flower punch.  A great set because you can stamp the 3 flower stamp in the set then punch them out using the matching punch.  This means you can create flower embellishments for your projects and cards in any colour you require!!  How fantastic!  This stamp set and punch are only available until the end of March.

To place an order with me simply call me on 0408 657 258 or email me at jocam_wassens@hotmail.com

Both of the stamp sets we are using are retiring, Petal Prints and Artfully Asian.  They are my favourite sets, so I will be bidding them a fond farewell at the end of the month.  Click here to see the entire list of Retiring Products.

Stampin' Up! Retiring Product List!

Some retiring products Feb 09

The list of stamp sets and accesories that are retiring from the 2008-2009 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue has been released today!  Some of the items are discounted by 25%!

You have until the end of March to purchase these products (while stocks last) until they are gone forever!

You can download the list in 2 forms:

List of Retiring prducts in Alphabetical order  OR

List of Retiring products by catalogue page number order

When products run out then they will no longer be available.  From previous experience the popular items sell out quickly, so get in early to avoid disappointment.

I suggest grabbing your catalogue, printing out the list and sitting down with a cuppa.  If you don't have a hard copy of the catalogue you can view it online HERE

To place an order with me, call me on (02) 45 777 504  OR  0408 657 258 OR email me at jocam_wassens@hotmail.com .  I accept VISA, Mastercard or direct deposit and can have items shipped directly to you anywhere in Australia.

Happy Retiring List Day!

Chocolate rub on card

Choc rub on tree card Feb 09

As promised another card using my Hidden Garden chocolate rub ons.  I used the image as the entire focus for the card and just layered it to make it special.

I will add a greeting to the card in the lower right hand corner, when I have decided who to give it to and for what occasion it will be required!

A quick and easy card to make.  Rub ons make it all so simple, with no mess and fuss.

Enjoy!
