Mum and Dad arrive today!

Mum and Dad arrive today! Yippee! I have counted down the sleeps and it is finally the day. Now I just have to clean the house so it is all in tip top condition for when they arrive. We moved into this house in August and it will be the first time they have seen it - so it better look tidy! Unfortunately Benjamin has a slight temperature and is complaining of stomach pains. Hopefully it will pass quickly and no one else will get it for Christmas. Probably won't be posting much over the next week or so -

So MERRY CHRISTMAS to anyone that reads this! Have a good one. Be good, and if you can't be good - Be careful!!

This is an Exploding Mini

This is an Exploding Mini Album! How cool! I saw the idea on Splitcoaststampers.

This one is not decorated with photos and embellishments yet, but thought I would show it to you anyway! It would make a great gift for a loved one once filled with special photos and comments.

I will be running a class to make an album like this at 7.30pm on Tuesday 20th February. Cost will be only $20, all materials provided. Bring your own photos of course! You must choose your patterened paper beforehand so contact me here to book your place. Places are limited to 6.

Gift box that holds 5 gift cards and envelopes

This is an idea that I saw another demonstrator do (Thanks to Marelle Taylor). It is a gift box that you make and decorate that holds 5 gift cards and envelopes. All the gift cards have a different greeting (there are 8 to choose from) but use the same design.

I will be holding two classes to make this gift box and card set on Tuesday 16th January and Tuesday 6th February at 7.30pm. So if you live near McGraths Hill (not far from Windsor in Syndey) and would like to make this lovely set of cards and box email me here. I provide all the materials you need and the cost is only $15. Bookings are essential.

Santa Card

Here is another Christmas card!

Stamp sets: 'Little hellos' santa and greeting, 'Little pieces' set for cirle images
Cardstock: Real red, handsome hunter and whisper white
Ink: Real red and classic black
I used the white Stampin' Up! gel pen to highlight the centres of the circle images on the background. This is a great white pen, safe for scrapbooking too. It doesn't 'fade' into the cardstock like most other white pens. The santa was coloured with a blender pen and real red, handsome hunter and classic black inks.

Little boy card

This is a cute card I created trying to focus on creating my own "background". I used the 'canvas' background stamp and 'little pieces' stamp set with old olive, chocolate chip, bashful blue and ballet blue inks (bashful blue on canvas stamp). The little boy is from the 'lively little ones' stamp set stamped in Stampin' Up!s classic black ink on whisper white cardstock. This means it is waterproof so will not run when coloured with the aquash brush (water filled brush pen) and old olive and ballet blue inks. Cardstock is whisper white, ballet blue, old olive and close to cocoa. Old olive card is torn and distressed slightly. Word window punch and 'Everyday flexible phrases' stamp set finish off the card, close to cocoa piece is attached using an old olive coloured brad (found in the mini catalogue). Hope you like it!

Card Candy

I'm so excited. I have just made some card candy - my first!! What is card candy I hear you say?.... Well it is some stamped images or card embellishments that are neatly packaged so you can give them away and the reciever can make their own cards with the pieces!

I wanted to give my Stampin' Up! hostesses for 2006 something special for Christmas so decided that this was something nice I could make for them, that would be useful too (I'm so practical sometimes!)

I used the 'Little hellos' stamp set, the flower from the 'Heartfelt thanks' set and the greeting from the 'Much apprceciated' set.

I know I may have ruined the surprise for any of my hostesses that visit my blog but I just couldn't keep my excitment to myself! This is a really easy and fun gift to make for someone. Have a go yourself and let me know how it goes with a comment on this post! Have fun creating!

Petal Prints Thank You Card

This is a card I created recently using the "Petal prints" stamp set using 2 step stamping to add dimension to the flower, stamped with ruby red ink onto whisper white card. I used the leaf prints wheel for the background with old olive ink on kraft cardstock. The "thank you" is from the "wonderful words" set and is stamped in old olive ink on old olive card. I have distressed the edges of the white card to give some texture and torn the bottom edge of the old olive card to add "movement"! The ribbon is Stampin' Up! grosgrain taupe - I love this ribbon it is so soft and looks fantastic. It really lifts any project you use it on. Hope you like this one! Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card

I thought I had better do a Christmassy post... This is one of the Christmas cards that some of my customers made in stamp-a-stacks this year. A stamp-a-stack is a card making night, at your house or mine (minimum of 4 people), where I provide all the materials (pre-cut card, adhesives, etc) and guests pay only $15 to make 10 cards (5 each of 2 different designs). I will be holding more of these in the coming year so will let you know the themes.

This card uses the tree from the "loads of love" set, speckle from "Itty bitty backgrounds" and the greeting from the "Crazy for Christmas" set. Background of the card is kraft with mellow moss, handsome hunter and very vanilla card also used. Ink is mellow moss. Plus some string! I have also distressed the vertical edges of the mellow moss card to add some dimension. Thanks for looking.

This is a card you can make if you attend one of my card making classes. The card base is mellow moss with "Itty Bitty Backgrounds" speckle stamped in mellow moss ink on the top half of the card. The word friendship is from the "Wonderful words" stamp set also stamped in mellow moss ink. The flowers are stamped on white gloss cardstock with pretty in pink ink. Leaves and stems are stamped in mellow moss ink. Strip of card used as ribbon is pretty in pink. Thanks for looking!
