Card Buffet!

I have been busy creating! And the outcome is lots of cards that you can make too! If you come to my house (at McGraths Hill, Sydney) on Tuesday 6 March for my first ever "Card Buffet Day (and night!)" It starts at 10am and last entry is at 7.30pm. Come and make 10 cards from the buffet for $20.

The greetings on some cards can be changed to suit your needs if required.

Present for "buddy"

This is a little card and gift for Benjamin's "buddy" at school. His school has a system where an older child is assigned to each new kindy kid as their "buddy". They were there to meet them on the first day and helped them through the first few hours at their new school. Then met them at each recess and lunch for the first week to help them in the playground too. It is a great system that helped Benjamin immensely and gives responsiblity to the older kids too. Anyway this is a card I made and a bag-a-lope (a little bag made out of an envelope!) with a little surprize inside for Nathan! Simple but effective! Hope you like it! Thanks for looking.

Hayden at Three Layout

This is a double layout I created for my second son, Hayden! I wanted to use the stampin' around wheels for a background and border, to try it out. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I used the 'leaf prints' wheel in bashful blue ink on sahara sand 12x12 card. I mitred the corners so there was no overlap of the wheel stamps and also used the wheel guide to ensure my wheeling was straight!

The title is stamped with the 'headline alphabet' and 'classic alphabet'. The "so cute" is from the sellabration set 'so very'.

He is 'So cute' don't you think?!

Art of Life Birthday Card

This is a card design that I saw my upline Jayne Mercer use - and I had to try it. I have also wanted to use the 'Art of Life' set for a while now and finally borrowed it from my downline, Merryl (Thanks Merryl!).

I used my stampin' write markers to ink up the flowers and greeting in ruby red and always artichoke on ruby red card. Also used the same but only on the flowers for the bottom section of the card. Added some apple green ribbon to finish off. I think it is pretty - hope you do to. Thanks for looking!

Male Birthday Card

Here is the male birthday card as promised. It is cased from Brigitte at SCS with a few changes.

I have used Handsome hunter, old olive and mellow moss cardstock. Stamping the H and B from the 'headline alphabet' in mellow moss ink and the Happy and Birthday from 'Everyday flexible phrases' in handsome hunter ink. I edged the whisper white card in mellow moss ink and mounted it on handsome hunter card. The 'print pattern' background stamp is stamped using old olive ink on old olive card. I used the hand held hole punch to punch 2 little holes which I threaded the string through (I think that string is a bit more masculine - ribbon would have looked wrong!) The strip of card horizonally across the card is mellow moss. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Card

A stamp-a-stack card I created for a group of ladies who wanted simple adult male and female birthday cards. This is the female one! Check here for the male one tomorrow! I used ruby red, pretty in pink and whisper white as my monochromatic colour scheme. Using the 'fun filled' stamp set I stamped the base of the vase in pretty in pink ink with the basket overlay in ruby red ink. I used my markers to colour the flowers ruby red and the stems old olive. The stamped the background dots over the flowers in pretty in pink ink. You can't see it very well but the bottom of the ruby red card is stamped with the swirly stamp in versamark ink. The happy birthday greeting is from the 'simple sayings' stamp set and is stamped in ruby red ink. I used the canvas background stamp with pretty in pink ink on the pretty in pink strip of card just to lift it. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking!

Bleach Technique Class

These are three cards that I have made using bleach in different ways.

Sell-a-bration card using bleach

Yes, bleach - that's right! It's not just for cleaning the bathroom you know! I have stamped these images in bleach on ruby red card. It bleaches the colour out of the cardstock!

When you use it on different colours the effects can vary so a little experimentation is needed.

I have then stamped over the bleached images using black Staz On ink to make sure it held its colour. I then mounted the images on whisper white and black card and arranged them on an old olive card base. To complete the card I used my slit punch and hand held circle punch to make a feature to tie the black gingham ribbon onto.

The greeting is from the 'delight in life' sell-a-bration set and the flowers are from 'petal prints' (My favourite flower set at the moment!)

Benjamin at 5 Layout

I feel like I've been neglecting my blog, but really life just gets busy sometimes doesn't it! Anyway I have a few posts for you to make up for it!

Here is a layout I finally completed of Benjamin at 5, photos are not great, taken at night, sorry about that! Benjamin wrote his name himself for the title (in case you couldn't tell!). All the journalling is quotes about Benjamin at this age.

I used chocolate chip card as the base for the pages as well as double sided patterned paper, bashful blue and whisper white. I stamped the 'five' with the 'big deal' alphabet in bashful blue ink and used 'little pieces' for the small circles and 'seeing spots' for the larger one which I cut out by hand (I think I need a circle punch!), all in bashful blue ink. Silver brads finish off all the centres of the circles.

Second half of the Pool Fun layout!

Well, here it is as promised. The second page of the Pool Fun layout! This turns the single page layout into a double! It is an awful photo, sorry - it is taken at night so the lighting is bad. Looks better IRL!

I love collaging my photos and do it often on my pages - as I usually have too many photos and want to use them all! It is a great way of showcasing your photos in a nice way and fitting lots on a page too.

Colours of card are Sahara sand, taken with teal (I think I put tempting turquioise in my first post - sorry about that - I always get these two confused!) and night of navy. I've used the white gel pen for some faux stitching on the photo corners and for the journalling. Thanks for looking!
