Birthday Butterfly

This is a birthday card for my good friend, Jayne.

It is a case of a card I saw on Debbie Olsson's blog a few months ago.  I didn't have a butterfly stamp though so have created my own using the heart from the 'Simply Said' stamp set, stamped on its side twice, then used a piece of hodgepodge hardware as the body and drawn in the antennae with a Stampin' Write marker.  What a versatile stamp set!

I've also used a bit of paper piercing and sponging to create some more detail on the card.  Gold organdy ribbon finishes it off nicely.  Colours used are perfect plum, whisper white and barely banana.

Stamp and Scrap for Cancer

Complaining that you don't have any time to scrap, stamp or make cards?

Come along to Hambledon Public School in Quakers Hill on Friday night from 7.30pm (2nd November).  Support a worthy cause, get some scrapbooking done, make some Christmas cards, come and stamp some images to use later, the choice is yours!

Cost is $10 per person and all profits will be donated to The Cancer Council.

There will be lots of Stampin' Up! stamp sets and tools that you are free to use for the evening, tea and coffee will also be provided.

Christmas Box

This is an origami box, created entirely by folding a square sheet of paper.  In this case the Stampin' Up! ® Designer Series Double Sided 'Treehouse' papers.  I got the instructions from Kristina Werner's website.

I thought it would make a fabulous box to give away small Christmas goodies in.  If you would like to make a box like this, and others for Christmas, email me so you can book in to my "Christmas Boxes" class on Wednesday 28 November, 7.30pm in McGraths Hill, Sydney. 

Beginners are most welcome, all materials are provided.

6x6 scrapbook pages

This is a 6x6 double layout for an album I am helping out with.

Dave Abbott the GM of Stampin' Up! Australia past away last week leaving behind his wonderful wife and their 3 small children.  I attended his funeral on Monday.  It was a very moving day with some lovely eulogies by his brother in law and best friend.  Dave was a very special man who touched a lot of people in his 41 years. I had the privilege of getting to know Dave and his wife on the recent Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Port Douglas.  He will be greatly missed.

The pages above are for an album for one of his children.  An album is being created for each of his children so they can fill it with photos and memories of their Dad.  I am just one of a team of Demonstrators who are helping to compile them.  We hope they will become treasured albums in the years to come.

Stampin' Up! are also releasing a special stamp set called "All in the Family" to be sold only in November all over the world.  All proceeds will be given directly to Dave Abbott's family.  If you would like to purchase this stamp set to support his family, please feel free to email me.

New Stampin' Up! Angel Policy in the USA

Stampin' Up! USA have announced a change to the Angel Policy.  This is the policy that gives guidelines for selling items which have used Stampin' Up! stamps or products.  There is a link to the actual annoucement here.

This means that in the future anyone will be able to sell hand made items using Stampin' Up! products on the internet and in retail outlets, which at present is not allowed.

It has not been announced in Australia yet - but maybe it will be soon, stayed tuned.  I will announce it here on my blog as soon as the news breaks.

Card for World Teachers Day

Here is a card I made for one of boys teachers, Mrs. Johnston for World Teachers Day yesterday.  Mrs Johnston is a fabulous teacher so we wanted to let her know how much we appreciate her.  I think she liked it!

Wedding Card

This is a wedding card and envelope for the couple whose wedding we attended last weekend. Congratulations Jotika and Simon!

The card was cased from Marelle (Thanks Marelle!), except I changed the background colour to Almost amethyst and my flowers are not in a lovely bunch like Marelle's are - maybe next time I will remember that vital point! Oh well - I still like it! Hope you do too.

Bow is done using the double rectangle punch. Flowers are coloured with the aquapainter and inks.

Ink: Black stazon, Almost amethyst.

Card: Almost amethyst, mellow moss, very vanilla.
