Summer Mini Paper Sample Booklet

Look what I made! 

It is a 6 x 6 booklet to showcase all of the double sided designer papers in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalogue.  There are 3 sets:  Enchante, Au Chocolate and Loves Me. And they are all lovely so I wanted to be able show them off.

I have used the round tab punch to make the tabs on the side of the booklet.

And have tied all the of the 'Flirty Ribbons' to the side of the booklet.  These match the 'loves me' papers perfectly and are all so beautiful.  I especially like the blue velvet ribbon and the pink crinkle one!

40th Birthday card

This is a card I made for my good friend, Sue, who turned 40 just before Christmas.  It is a large card (A5), double the normal size so there is plenty of room for her friends to all write uplifting messages inside!

I used Stampin' Up!'s chipboard alphabet and numbers (Simon Lower) for the "40".  I did something I have wanted to try for a while and finally had a good reason!   I love the way the numbers turned out.  Here is how I did it:

I pressed the chipboard into my versamark ink pad so the entire number was covered then I coloured the chipboard with pink passion ink using sponge daubers.  I applied Stampin' Up!'s heat and stick powder to the chipboard, it adhered itself to the sticky versamark ink.  I heated it carefully using my heat tool, doing first one end and then the other so as not to burn my fingers!  I tried using tweezers but found that holding the edge with my fingers didn't disturb as much powder.  While the heat and stick powder was still sticky I applied dazzling diamonds glitter, then heated again to 'set' it. And voila!  A dazzling pink 40!

The certainly celery piece of the card is rolled with the scribble wheel (hopefully this will make it to the new Idea Book and Catalogue in March, but at present is unavailable).  I used the 'whimsical lower case alphabet' for the words, stamping first in old olive and then in pink pasion, to give the letters a shadow each.  I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure I lined up the images correctly.

The edges of the certainly celery are sponged with old olive using sponge daubers.  The pink flowers are from the new stamp set 'Bud basics' available from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

Presents for Teachers

I have been busy making Christmas gifts for my sons teachers.  Here is what I stamped for his teacher Mrs. Johnston.  It has every student's head stamped with their name underneath.  I used the class photo to make sure I got everyone's hair type and colour correct!  I hope that it will be a treasured momento for her in future years. She and Benjamin's other teacher, Mrs Hassan, have given him such a wonderful start in his education.  We are very grateful for their hard work and dedication this year.

The green and pink card wallet is full of little hand stamped greeting cards and another surprise too!

I made a frame for Mrs. Hassan too, here it is.

I used the Whimsical lower case alphabet from Stampin' Up! for the titles.  It is such a lovely alphabet.  Of course I used 'All in the family' for the teacher and heads.  You will be able to purchase this again when the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue comes out in March 2008.

One Layer Card

This is a one layer card!  Using just stamping on one layer of card and some ribbon!  It was a card I created for a cyberstamp challenge I participated in recently.

I used Stampin' Write Markers to colour the stripey stamp from the "Dream come true" stamp set, so they were alternating colours.  The star is from the "All through the year" stamp set. I have masked the red star then stamped the blue star so it is overlapping but 'appears' behind the red star.  The greeting is from "All year cheer I' and again I used markers to colour it so the words are different colours.

The colours I choose are real red and bashful blue.  A slightly different Christmas colour combo but one I like!  The gingham ribbon finishes the card off nicely.

Christmas Gift Boxes

Look at what I made!  I am quite proud of my efforts, they look so sweet when you see them all together like this!  These are mini origami boxes that I have made for my son's pre-school teachers using some of Stampin' Up!'s lovely 'Holiday Thyme' paper.  It is only available until 15 December so if you would like some too you need to contact me now!

Here is a sneak peak inside one of the boxes - but really the gift is the box itself that they can keep to put small trinkets in, or regift to someone else!  perhaps using one of the Christmas gift tags I made for them using Stampin' Up!'s tag punch.  The tag punch made it so simple and quick, just stamp, punch, add a piece of ribbon or cord and your done! 

 

Perhaps the tag punch is an item you could add to your wishlist for the Sale-a-bration promotion that is coming in January and February.

Bud Basics Card using faux linen

Here is a card made with the new Bud Basic Stamp set and Basic Outline Jumbo wheel.  I love that I can use the jumbo wheel to stamp the outline then stamp the "insides" of the flowers using the Bud Basic stamp set!  What a great idea!

The background of this card is also made using the faux linen technique. I have used the sanding block to lightly sand the surface of glossy white cardstock in the two different directions then sponged the vintage violet ink over the top and sanded it lightly again.  Viola - faux linen!
