Today, I am pleased to present the artwork of Marjorie Hill, one of my very talented customers!

I think it is wonderful to see what other people create with Stampin' Up! stamps and products.  One of my favourite sayings is:  "We are only limited by our imaginations!" and when it comes to card making this is especially true!

Simple Scrapbook Page

That's right Merryl (and all you others who know how long it has been since I scrapbooked!) I have completed a double layout!!

A simple layout, but a layout none the less!  This is a double layout from a sketch by Becky Higgins.  Using a sketch as the starting point makes it so much easier.  This was a challenge from a customer of mine (Hi Debbie!) - to create a scrapbook double layout using this sketch and the following colours:  Night of navy, bashful blue, real red and whisper white.

I think it turned out OK and I hope Uncle Iggy likes it too!

Details

Stamps:  Big Deal Alphabet, Seeing spots, Little pieces.

Ink:  Night of navy, bashful blue, real red

Cardstock:  Night of navy, bashful blue, whisper white, real red, vellum.

Accessories:  red grosgrain riboon, staple, tag punch, dotto, 1 3/8th inch square punch, 1 1/4 inch square punch, paper snips.

Au Chocolate origami box

Isn't this pretty.  An origami box made from Stampin' Up!'s beautiful 'Au Chocolate' Designer Series 12 x 12 Papers from the current Summer Mini Catalogue.  Just perfect for some Easter treats!

Class Next Tuesday - Year of Cards Booklet

Would you like to make this book?  You can at my class next Tuesday 25th March 2008, at my home in McGraths Hill, Sydney at 7.30pm!  McGraths Hill is near Windsor and Rouse Hill to the Northwest of the city.

I provide all the materials including the binding and it will only cost you $25.

This is essentially a birthday (or special occasion) book.  It has a page for each month with a calendar that you write your special events on.  Each page is also a pocket that you can keep the cards you make (or buy - although I would never buy a card these days!!!) in, so they are ready for that special occasion.

Happy Birthday Melissa!

It is my good friend, Melissa's birthday today - so Happy Birthday Melissa!

This is the card I made for her.  I have been saying goodbye to many of my stamps and products that will be retiring at the end of March as I used them for probably the last time on this card.

All of this years 'in colours' will be gone (Cool caribbean, Marigold morning, true thyme, vintage violet, buckaroo blue and my favourite, Cranberry crisp.  I have used the 4 colours in italics on this card.)

I also used 'Print Pattern' for the background diamond pattern, this is also retiring.  As is 'Fun Filled' which I used to stamp the bow on the top of the squares.  The greetings are from 'All Year Cheer I' and 'Whimsical alphabet lowercase' both also retiring. Both the whimsical upper case and numbers have already sold out so if you love this alphabet as much as I do you had better place your order before the end of March.

Crayon Resist ATC

Here are my cards for the ATC (Artist Trading Card) Swap.  This month the technique is 'Crayon Resist'.

A great technique that is really quite simple.  All you need is a white or pale yellow wax crayon (The best ones are stolen from your kids crayon packs!!  Pale yellow works the same as a white crayon and it is easier to see where you have drawn), some white glossy cardstock, dye ink and a sponge, staz on ink.

First you stamp your images in staz on ink on the white glossy card.  You need to leave this to dry completely before you start so the crayon doesn't smudge it.  When it is dry then apply your crayon to some parts of the image that you would like to remain white.  Sponge your ink over the crayon and images carefully.  I used 2 colours in my samples but you could use as many or a few colours as you like.  Then use a tissue to remove the remaining crayon from the white glossy card.

The crayon resists the ink so remains white!  The possibilities for this one are endless.  Leave me a comment and link to your samples if you try this yourself. I would love to see some of your work.
