Boatloads of Love Birthday Invitations

I have been busy making invitations for a birthday party.  I used my new set "boatloads of love".  It has this great boat in it that is just perfect for little boys! 

I have stamped it onto vellum with staz on black ink, then coloured it in using my markers on the back side of the vellum.  This makes the colouring look better!  I didn't use my aquapainter because I wanted the colours nice and vibrant for these invites.

I used the Matey's map jumbo wheel along the base of the cards to give them a bit more detail.  Then to finish off I used the new Stampin' Up! corner rounder punch, with the guard removed, to make the scalloped edge under the boat - to resemble the sea!

These cards are only just finished so some of the glue is still wet - it will be invisible when it dries though!  The Stampin' Up! Anywhere glue sticks are perfect for using with vellum for this reason.

In the Spotlight Birthday Card

 

June and July are full of birthdays for us.  Here is a birthday card I made for Erica, the cutest 3 year old!  It is nice and pretty, just like Erica.

I used the hostess set 'In the Spotlight' which is a really lovely set to stamp with.  I know I will enjoy using all of the images in this set.  I especially like the row of dots stamp - I used it here to make the stems for the flowers.  If you would like to know how you can earn this stamp set free please feel free to give me a call on 0408 657 258 or email me.

How to Kiss with your Stamps!

Have you ever tried kissing your stamps?  Of course I don't mean in the usual way, that would be weird!, but in the following way:

 

Kissing Technique: 

Ink a background stamp with classic ink.  Press a solid type stamp onto the background stamp to pick up the ink and then onto cardstock.  You can also press inked stamps onto a background stamp and then stamp either stamp for an interesting effect. 

 

On the card pictured I have kissed a bold solid flower stamp, from the 'pick a petal' stamp set, onto the 'paisley background' stamp and then stamped it onto the card.  I used my Stampin' Write markers to 'ink' the background stamp in different places so I could use different colours.  Here is the completed card:

Another Pirate Birthday Card!

Another card using the Ahoy Matey set.  I love this set for boys birthdays and as I seem to have a few of those at the moment I have made lots of these cards so I am prepared for all those upcoming events.

Pirate Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made for Jake!  He held a wonderful pirate party where all the kids dressed up and had lots of fun. 

I used my new Short Order alphabet to personalise his card with his name.  I really like this new alphabet.  It will be great to personalise cards and use on scrapbook pages too.  I also folded a little boat for the pirate to sail in!  I hope Jake liked it - he did seem impressed when I told him I made it myself!  So I was happy with that!
