Card from Michelle Le Breton

A lovely birthday card I recieved from Michelle Le Breton, a very talented card maker and member of my team, The Creative Stampers. 

Michelle holds fantastic card making and papercrafting classes in Baulkham Hills, Sydney. If you are ever able to attend I can highly recommend them.  Her work is just stunning, and she is a very caring and patient teacher.  Love your work, Michelle!  Thanks for my beautiful card.

Michelle has created these flowers using the snowflake stamps from "the snowflake spot" stamp set.  She has used the stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp them twice, overlapping each other to create a flower rather than a snowflake.  How clever!

INKling Demonstrator of the Year 2007-2008!

Yes, that is me, Joanna Wassens!  I am the INKling team Demonstrator of the Year!

Jayne Mercer recently held her team award night.  She used the same criteria for the Australian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator of the Year within her team - AND out of over 100 demonstrators, I was the WINNER!  WooHoo!

I was very surprised!  But extremely pleased.  This award is not really just for me - I couldn't have done it without my team, The Creative Stampers.  So I would like to thank all of my team members for all their hard work and support in the past Stampin' Up! Year.  All of the ladies in my team are lovely and each have their own strengths to make our team fantastic!

Card from Merryl

It was my birthday this month and I received some lovely handmade cards.  Here is one from my dear, kind and wonderful friend, Merryl! 

I am a very lucky person because Merryl used one of her prized hat pins from her pretties kit on my card.  We all know how precious those are!  For her to use this on MY card shows just what a true friend she is!!  THANKS MERRYL!  You are the best.

Kristina Werner Colour Challenge

This is my first attempt at one of Kristina Werner's weekly colour challenges!  This week we had to use these colours:  rose red, regal rose, sage shadow and whisper white.

Photo has been updated to one taken in daylight!

I really enjoyed this challenge.  These colours are some of my favourites though, so it wasn't too hard this week.

Card using NEW Die Cuts!

I was playing with my new die cut flowers last night and had so much fun creating heaps of cards! This is just one of them. 

The die cut flowers (made of textured cardstock) will be available in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue which begins on 1 August.  I have them early because demonstrators get to order 1 of everything in the new catalogue in the month prior to the release - just one of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator!

Red, White and Blue Stars!

This is a fun card I created for a demonstration on the 4th of July.  Red, White and Blue was of course compulsory and stars where just perfect!  The guests were all very happy with their own version of this card that they got to create.

Ten Pin Bowling Invitations!

My son recently held a tenpin bowling party and he helped me to package the invitations for his guests. 

The Tenpin Bowling venue (Windsor TenPin Bowl) provides invitations which have a map and all the other relevant party information, so we utilised these.  But we wanted to make them a little bit more presentable, and make them together as a Mother/son activity too!

We came up with the above idea.  We made a pocket for the invitation and punched out a hole for the names of the guests using the Stampin' Up!  word window punch.  My son used the classic star jumbo wheel to decorate the cardstock. We stapled the pockets together then folded down a flap so you could see the 'Tenpin Bowling' words.

Lastly we stamped 'Your invited' from the family phrases stamp set.  I love the font of this set and it is fast becoming a favourite with my customers.  It is designed to coordinate with the All in the family stamp set as well.

The bowling party was a great success!  They have some great specials on for the holidays too in case you need some activities to keep your kids occupied!

Rock 'n' Roll Technique

 

Here is a card I created quickly using the Rock 'n' Roll Technique to give me two toned flowers.

To try the rock n roll technique yourself:  you choose two coordinating colours of classic ink.  Ink your stamp in the lighter colour.  Then roll the edges of your stamp in the darker colour of ink.  Fianlly you stamp the image onto cardstock for a two-toned effect.

 

This technique works best with circular stamps or stamps that are symmetrical.  You can also vary the amount of the darker colour you add to your stamp with the amount of pressure you use.
