This is the third and final make and take that the guests at my Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Party got to make (for free!). A magnetic bookmark! Read on to find out how it works!
If you live anywhere near McGraths Hill or Windsor in Sydney and would like to make things like this at my next launch, why not sign up for my free monthly email newsletter - just type your email address in the box at the top left of my blog and click the button! It's free too!
I used the new Season of Joy stamp set to make this bookmark. It is a Christmas set but can be used in a non-Christmassy way, as I have shown!
To make this book mark you need a long strip of card folded in half. You attach 2 flat magnets to the inside base of the card. These magnets will hold the bookmark in place when folded over your page. The ribbon will stick out the top of your book to mark your place! Here is a photo of the magnets so you can see what I mean:
You use the Stampin' Up! horizontal slot punch to punch the small slots for the ribbon to go through. I have also used my Stampin' Write bashful blue marker to colour the edge of my white ribbon to give it a lift before threading it through the slots and tying in the front.
Here is a close up of the ribbon and slots:
I have also added some detail with my paper piercing template from the Stampin' Up! mat pack to the corners of the white card and on some of the swirls too.
If you would like to purchase any of the above Stampin' Up! items so you can make your own magnetic bookmarks or cards please email me at jocam_wassens@hotmail.com or call me on 0408 657 258.
Here are all the details:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Card: Purely pomegranate, bashful blue, whisper white
Ink: Purely pomegranate, bashful blue
Accessories: Horizontal slot punch, white grosgrain ribbon, mat pack and paper piercer.
Happy Stamping!
Lovely bookmark Joanne.

Hi Jo,
I keep eyeing this off. It's such a great and simple idea. I am thinking of casing it for my next upcoming demo's. Thanks for the inspiration.
Where did you get the magnets from?? I've only been able to get huge sheets of them!! Please let me know
Dani xoxo
