Desk calendars and organisers

I made these desk calendars and desk organisers to give to some of my lovely team members for Christmas.  Here is a close up of one of the calendars:

The desk organiser has a segmented Stampin' Up! stampin store container stuck to the front instead of a calendar.  It is for all those little things you can never find on your desk - now there is a place to put them:

I used Kaleidoscope designer series papers teamed with pink pirouette and pink passion cardstock on these projects and of course the fantastic 'for everything' stamp set from the summer mini catalogue.

To decorate the lids of the stampin store containers I cut out circles of card using my new circle scissors plus - it was a breeze!   The circle scissors plus is also available from the Summer Mini Catalogue - it is a great tool that can cut circles any size from 1 inch to 6 inches in diametre.

Magnetic Mini Calendar

 
This was one of the 'make and takes' at my Summer Mini Catalogue Launch Party in late November 09.  I used the new 'For everything' stamp set (my favourite in the summer mini catalogue) and teamed it with the beautiful Kaleidoscope designer series papers.

Everyone got to colour in their stamped flowers, to match their paper, using Stampin' Up!s lovely watercolour crayons and aquapainters. 

The mini calendars are from an educational supplier - I got them in a bulk buy by another demonstrator (One of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - if you would like to join my team in 2010, why not drop me a line or give me a call, if you join between 25th January and 31st March you get an extra stamp set FREE to the value of $79.95).

Retro Remix Sevens Box

These boxes are called sevens boxes because all of the measurments to make them are multiples of seven.  Thank you to lovely Marelle Taylor for the tutorial for this box.

Ink:  black staz on, same colour as card for the wheel design.

Card: pink passion, gable green, tempting turquoise, barely banana

Accessories:  retro remix standard wheel, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, wide oval punch, certainly celery or so saffron wide grosgrain ribbon, certainly celery marker.
 

Elongated Triangle Gift Box

This is one of the make and takes you could have made if you attended my Summer Mini Catalogue Launch Party way back in late November. 

It uses the cute snowflake stamp from the new 'Hello again' stamp set (in the summer mini).  This is stamped with bleach onto the baha breeze card.  I was having a bit of a bleaching extravaganza at that time.  You can start reading all my bleaching posts HERE!
 

I have also used the new 1 and 3/4 inch circle punch, which I think will be a very useful addition to my punch collection.  The felt flower on the top is adhered using a silver brad  and is from the 'flower fusion too' selection of felt flowers (on page 144 of the main catalogue).  The greeting is from the set 'Occasional greetings'.

Merry Christmas Bauble Wreath!

Merry Christmas!  

This is the bauble Christmas Wreath I created following instructions from my good friend Jayne HERE.

It was quite simple, but did use a lot of baubles!  Mine is not quite as pretty as Jayne's but I am happy with it - and it looks good from a distance!!  

There is absolutely no stamping involved in this one!

Large Chocolate Block Pull Treats

These are the Christmas pull treats I made for my sons' teachers this year.  I was inspired by a similar idea that one of my lovely customers showed to me (Thanks for the inspiration, Janet!)

Most of what I have used to make these pull treats is not from Stampin' Up!  I have made a resolution to try and use up some of my stash of stuff (I am sure you understand!!)

I simply folded the paper around the block of chocolate then scored along those folds and adhered the paper together.  The bottom of the pull treat pouch is stuck together and then crimped for added security.  The word window punch was used to punch out the large hole for the ribbon at the top.

Purple Christmas Card!

A Christmas card in a non-traditional Christmas colour - purple!  Or Lovely lilac to be exact!

I've used the reverse masking technique on this one.  I made a reverse mask - a piece of acetate with a circle punched out of the centre.  The circle was punched out using the round tab punch.  You punch it out twice at right angles to create a circle. 

Of course I could now use my circle scissors plus to create the perfect reverse circle mask in any size I want!  I used acetate so you can see clearly to reposition the mask if you happen to move it slightly - you do have to wipe it with a tissue though between cards so you don't get ink on your fingers!

You sponge inside the circle then stamp inside it and remove the reverse mask, to create the bauble.  The top of the bauble is the end of a word window punch piece, it is adhered using a mini glue dot, which also holds the silver thread in place.  Dazzling diamonds glitter added to the bauble using the two way glue pen and you are done!

This was a popular Christmas card this season in my classes and workshops.  It could be created in any colour, but I quite like the purple (My friend Carol will be pleased!  She loves any shade of purple!)

Quick Christmas Tags

Here are a couple of Christmas tag designs that are quick to make, essential at this time of year when everything is so hectic!

They use the 'Christmas Classics' stamp set.  Simply stamp either image in certainly celery ink then add either the holly or greeting in real red ink.  I used the eyelet border punch on the top and bottom of the celery card to add some extra detail.  The ribbon is threaded through the hole punched by the horizontal slot punch and you are done!

Mini Candy Cane Matchbooks

 

 
These are what my sons and I created for all of their classmates instead of Christmas cards.  They are matchbooks that when opened reveal a mini candy cane:

 

Hopefully their classmates all enjoyed them.  They are not all perfect, but we all enjoyed making them together, which was the highlight for me.  And, as I tell all my class attendees, they are handmade and so not meant to be perfect!

They are quite simple to make, but do have quite a few steps!  Here are the instructions in case you want to make them yourself:

The dimensions for the base is 21cm x 5.9cm (this gives you 5 out of 1 sheet of A4).  They need to be scored at 7cm from one end and 5.8cm from the other side. 

Use the word window punch to punch out the hole for the candy cane (this needs to be on the smaller side - that was scored a 5.8cm) then fold along all score lines.  

Fold a large oval punched piece around the base of the matchbook and staple in place, this is what the front of the match book tucks into to hold it in place.  Here is the back view:

Decorate the front and inside of the matchbook as you wish.  We used the star and greeting from the Christmas Classic stamp set and the large and small star punches.

We are famous! Girls Night in In Print!

That's right, the Girls Night In Stamping Fiesta some of my team and I organised in October has made it to print! 

Jane Clark, from Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft came to visit us and took some photos and details to write about for the magazine.

Mellow Christmas Card!

The title refers to the colour 'Mellow Moss' that I have used as the base of this card, which I have teamed with Ruby Red.  This card was inspired by a card by Jayne Mercer that I have had sitting in my inspiration box for about 2 years now! 

It is not really a very mellow card at all.  In fact it is a very detailed card!  I used it as a make and take at some of my Christmas workshops so the guests could try lots of techniques and products.

There is a match book type closure on the right hand side of the card - made using the slit punch.  The stamp set mainly used is the ever popular Season of Joy.  The tree has been inked up using mellow moss then the star, and two spots on the tree have been highlighted with a ruby red Stampin' Write Marker, before stamping.

I have used lots of punches on this card.  The slit punch (as mentioned), the large oval and scallop oval punch for the greeting and the word window punch to create the embellishments to the upper left and lower right of the tree.  I simply cut one word window punched piece in half to create these pieces.

There is also a jumbo wheel on the background - spot on, which I have highligted with the white gel pen.  I have even added some faux stitching using the mat pack and a marker.

Hopefully looking at this card will make you feel mellow at this busy time of the year!

Classic Christmas Tree Card

Here is one of the cards you could have chosen to make if you hosted a Christmas card making session with me in the last few months.  It was quite a popular choice with its traditional Christmas colours and theme.

You can just see that the base has been wheeled with the 'spot on' jumbo wheel using versamark ink and then some spots have been highlighted using the fabouous Stampin' Up!  white gel pen - it is a like a paint pen really, the white gel sits on top of the card and doesn't fade or sink into the card like other gel pens do - it means it stays crisp and white - Perfect for the snow type of effect I was after on this card.

The other stamped images are all from the Classic Chistmas set.  A lovely set  in my humble opinion!

Christmas Cards with Money Pocket

 

Here are some cute cards I made for my nephews and nieces for Christmas.  This year we have agreed to give them money, to spend how they wish for Christmas - so I have made a card that includes a money pouch.
