Christmas Cards with Money Pocket

 

Here are some cute cards I made for my nephews and nieces for Christmas.  This year we have agreed to give them money, to spend how they wish for Christmas - so I have made a card that includes a money pouch.

Gift Card Holder for a boy

My sons were invited to a birthday party on the weekend for one of their school mates.  Of course I had to make a card!  But as we decided to give a 'gift card' as one of his presents, the card also had to be a gift card holder.  This is what I came up with.  

I used a belly band instead of ribbon, cos ribbon is a bit girly!  As you pull down the belly band this is what you see:

Then when you open the card:

 And all the way open (bear in mind this is the unfinished version.  The finished version has a white square added on the left hand side where the boys wrote their birthday messages.)

I hope Liam liked his card and presents!  We sured enjoyed his party!

Ink:  chocolate chip

Card:  Chocolate chip, baha breeze, whisper white

Embossed Baroque Motifs

This is a card I created to show how great white embossing can look on Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series papers. The Designer Series Paper in the card is "Ski Slope" from the Spring Mini Catalogue.  You only have until the end of November to order this lovely set of papers, and everything else in the Mini.

I have also used the fantastic Baroque Motifs stamp set and some flowers from the Pretties Kit (I seem to hoard these, so it was nice to finally get them onto a card! I hope you can relate!)

The greeting is from Simply said (another great stamp set) and of course it is punched out with the large oval punch and the beautiful scalloped oval punch - which will only be available until the end of November.  Make sure you contact me soon if you want to order one.

Large Brad Challenge Card

Here is a card that I created by starting with one of the super large brads from the Spring Mini Catalogue!  I added some die cut blooms (lovely textured cut out flowers), some of my favourite designer series paper, Parisian Breeze (also from the Spring Mini), and some Baha breeze ribbon.

The large Brads and Parisian Breeze papers are only available from the Spring Mini Catalogue until the end of November, so remember to order them before then, so you don't miss out!

Here is the card I sent to my Dad.  It was inspired by a very similar card by Kylie Swain, whom I was lucky enough to sit near on my recent team weekend away.  Thanks Kylie!

I used 4 new larger silver brads - available in the Spring Mini Catalogue - which were just perfect to finish off this card.  Parisian breeze paper (my all time favourite ever paper from Stampin' Up!) teamed with kraft and not quite navy card, complete the ensemble.

Brad and Button Challenge Take II

 

Further to my corduroy button challenge two days ago I decided to create a card using the Button Latte Designer buttons from the Stampin' Up! range AND a Flower Designer Brad, from the Spring Mini Catalogue.  I have had these buttons for a while and not used them, the brad is of course, brand new in my stash!

Corduroy Button Challenge!

 

This is a close up of one of the lovely new Kiwi Kiss Corduroy buttons available in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue.  When I attended a stamping weekend away I challenged myself to create a card using products from the Spring Mini.  I would start with a product and create a card from there.

This was the card I created using a corduroy button!  A strange way to begin, but it seemed to work for me that weekend!  I also managed to squeeze in quite a few other products.  See the list below for details. Remember products from the Spring Mini are available for a limited time only!

Carol Dunstan Soft Summer Card

 

I recently attended a weekend away stamping, with the INKlings Stampin' Up! team.  One of the other attendees on the weekend was the talented Carol Dunstan.  She created this lovely card and when I saw it I just had to make it!  Carol even loaned me her Kiwi Kiss marker to make the card.  You can see how she makes her own 'in colour' markers HERE.  Thank you Carol.

My main aim on the weekend away was to create samples of cards using products from the new Spring Mini Catalogue.  I love the new Corduroy buttons, and Carol's use of them on this card was just perfect.  I created lots of samples that weekend and I will be showing them to you over the next few days.  Stay tuned!

Soft Summer Catalogue Case

 

This is a card I created by copying it directly from the Spring Mini Catalogue (Page 22).  I find the Stampin' Up! catalogues great sources of inspiration and ideas and often copy cards, or use the card sketches from the catalogues as a starting point for making a card.

I have changed the card slightly from the one in the Spring Mini.  Can you tell me what the difference is?  I can't offer any reward - just making my day by leaving me a comment - Thanks!
