Party Hats as Christmas Trees!

This is a card you can make if you attend either of my 'Last minute Christmas Card' classes on Tuesday 8th December at either 10am or 7.30pm.  You will make 5 of this card and 5 of another design.

I used the party hats from the 'Party Hearty' stamp set and added little trunks to make them into Christmas trees (An idea that was shared with us at Stampin' Up! convention earlier this year)

Faux Woodgrain Card Making Class

Brayering Card Class

Circle Circus Cards

 

This is the other card design you could make if you attend my card making classes this month.  I have classes scheduled for Wednesday 29th July at 10am and 7.30pm, in McGraths Hill, Sydney.  Cost is $20 for 10 cards (5 of this design and 5 of the pick a petal flower design from my post yesterday)

Both of the cards pictured are the same design with a few colour variations.  I have used the lovely versatile set, Circle circus and the poppin pastel technique.

Pick a Petal Chalkboard Card

 

Here is one of the cards you can make if you attend my classes this month (July 2009).  It is made with the lovely Pick a Petal stamp set and uses the chalkboard technique.

Actually all of the cards you make this month are using chalks (Stampin' Up! pastels) in different ways.

I held classes yesterday but still have two more classes scheduled for Wednesday 29th July at 10am and 7.30pm.  Please feel free to call me if you would like to book a spot in either class, I still have a few spots left. Blooming with Beauty Mother's Day Card

 

This is the other card you can make at my Watercolouring classes this month.

It uses the lovely Blooming with Beauty stamp set.  The greeting is from Occasional Greetings and is  perfect for Mother's day which is fast approaching!  Of course you can customise this card to your needs during my class by adding the greeting of your choice, if you don't require 5 Mother's day cards!

Watercolouring card class

 

Here is a card I made using the brand new Bloom Away stamp set.  This stamp set contains 3 images of Australian flora:  a banksia, waratah and gum blossoms.  I love that we have some purely Australian images in our new Stampin' Up! Idea book and catalogue - just for us!  The stamp set is on page 88 of the online catalogue if you would like to check it out.

You can make this card too!  You just need to book in to attend my Watercolouring Card Making class next Tuesday 7th April or on Tuesday 28th April.  I run the class at both 10am and 7.30pm on both days.

All through the Year Card

 

Here is another one of the cards that our guests got to make at my team's Bon Voyage Card Making Night last week.  A simple design but great for any occasion. 

It uses the lovely stamp set All through the Year.  A set with 8 different images (flower, acorn, leaves, snowflake, heart, star, butterfly and cherries) that can be used to make a whole range of different cards and projects. 

This set is retiring at the end of the month.  Call me or email me if you would like to order it before it is gone for good.  It also has a coordinating flower wheel: garden annuals.

This is the stamp set and wheel I use to decorate my Year of Cards booklet, which many of you may recognise!

March Card Making Class

 

Here are the 2 cards you can make at my card making class later this month, on Thursday 26 March at either 10am or 7.30pm.  You make 5 of each design (10 cards althogether!)

Cost is $20 per person  There is also the option to purchase envelopes you can stamp to match your cards for another $3.  This includes all materials. 

These cards use the techniques of '2-step stamping' and 'direct to paper', so come along if you would like to learn these techniques.

My classes are held in McGraths Hill, Sydney (about 5 minutes from Windsor).  Bookings are essential.  Beginners are most welcome.

Year of Cards Class

 

This is what you can make if you attend my upcoming 'Year of Cards" booklet making class on Monday 23rd February, either at 10am or 7.30pm.

I provide all the materials to make this booklet for a cost of only $25 per person.

Each page of the booklet contains a pocket for cards, plus a calendar of the month that you can write important dates on.  So as you turn the page each month you see what events (eg birthdays) are coming up and have cards already prepared for them in the pocket provided (if you are super organised!)

Embrace Life Cards

 

Here are the other cards that my weekend card making ladies created using the Embrace Life stamp set.  The cards are the same, apart from the base card colour, either blush blossom or soft sky. 

I used 2 of the other stamps in the set on these cards, both of the branches, one with pointy leaves and the other with soft blossoms.

I stamped the pointy leaved branches in old olive ink and then coloured them in with certainly celery ink on whisper white card.  The soft blossom branches were used to create a subtle pattern on the certainly celery card below the ribbon (although it does seem hard to see that in this photo, sorry!).  The scalloped edge is created using the scallop edge punch (I love this new toy!)

The greetings are stamped onto matching card and then punched out with either the word window punch or large oval punch to complete the card.

Ink:  Old olive, certainly celery

Card:  Whisper white, certainly celery, either soft sky or blush blossom.

Accessories:  Certainly celery wide grosgrain ribbon, word window punch or large oval punch, scallop edge punch.

Tall flower card design for Card Making Class

 

As the title suggests, this card is based around the tall flower stamp from the Embrace Life stamp set available in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalogue.

This was a card I created for a special group of ladies who requested a card making class using this stamp set.  They all enjoyed the effectiveness and simplicity of watercolouring the flower using the aquapainter and the Stampin' Up! ink pads.  Some commented that this was their favourite card of the two designs.  I will post the other card they got to create tomorrow, so check back for more Embrace Life samples!

I used the Leaves a la Carte jumbo wheel to create the background detail on the pale plum piece of card.  I like the detail this wheel creates combined with the simplicity of the single flower.

To finish off I created a simple embellishment using circle punches and the wonderful scallop circle punch to hold the greeting.

If you would like to hold your own personalised card making class.  All you need is 4 people (up to a maximum of 8) and to live in within about an hours drive of Windsor in Sydney.  I will come to your home and bring everything that is required.  I pre-cut all the cardstock and then demonstrate how to make the 2 card designs.  All you and your friends have to do is stamp and assemble the 10 cards (5 of each of the 2 designs). This card uses a technique called 'spotlighting' that you can learn if you attend my class.  You will also receive a technique card, with a sample of the technique and details of how to do it, so you can remember what to do next time you make a card.

It is that time of year again! Christmas is looming  - only 6 weeks away!  You still have time to start your Christmas cards, and if you need some assistance why not book a card making session at your home with me.  I provide all the materials and the designs for the cards.  You just need to stamp and assemble them, after I have shown you how, of course!  I require a minimum group of 4 people, each person pays only $20 to make 10 cards.

Christmas Card Class

 

On Tuesday 21st October I am holding my regular monthly card making classes.  We make 10 cards (5 each of 2 different designs) and learn techniques at the same time, all for only $20 per person.

This month we are making Christmas cards, including this window card.  The colours are almost amethyst and elegant eggplant, slightly non traditional - but I like the way it has turned out! We are also using glitter to make it even more sparkly.

Big Bold Birthday Card

 

Here is a card I created with the 'Big Bold Birthday' stamp set.  It is a great set with 13 images in it and it happens to be on special this month (October Birthday Promotion 2008), if you spend $20 on regular catalogue merchandise you can get it for only $43.16, instead of the normal $53.95, quite a saving! 

To create the two tone presents I used the rock 'n' roll technique.  First inking the stamp in certainly celery ink then rolling it in the brocade blue ink, so only the edges become blue.  I have also masked the two outer presents, prior to stamping the center present, to make it appear as if it is behind the other two.

Cards with NO Stamping!

More cards created with no stamping!  Here are all the cards I created in one night using only die cut blooms, rub ons, metal hodgepodge and ribbon - AND that was only during the ad breaks of my favourite TV show!

You get 4 sheets of die cut blooms in the package for only $16.50.  One sheet in each of old olive, real red, pumpkin pie and bashful blue.  I have used less than a quarter of the blooms to make these cards - so you could make well over 40 cards using these die cuts!
