This is one of the cards the lovely ladies who attended my New Catalogue Launch Party got to make last Friday.
It uses the beautiful swirly stamp from the new stamp set 'Creative Elements'. The other images in the set are just as nice too! The butterflies were made using the Butterfly wings sizzlet die on the big shot. I think this is one of the best investments I have made. A small die that embosses and cuts out 5 different sized butterflies all for less than the price of a punch! Bargain!
I mounted the smaller butterflies on the larger ones for a lovely effect. I had never thought to do this before and it really does look special on a card.
Of course I have used a new 'In Colour', Wisteria Wonder. A lovely pale purple, that goes perfectly with Elegant eggplant and Pink pirouette.
The glittery finish is from Frost White Shimmer Paint that I have mixed with Isopropyl alcohol and spritzed on the entire card. Once the alcohol has dried it leaves the lovely shimmer. Just one of the many uses for Stampin' Up! shimmer paints!

I have a lovely hostess (Hi Mariun!) who owns the 'Thoughts and Prayers' stamp set. She wanted some ideas on how to use it and invited some friends along to make the cards too. This is one of the cards I designed for her and her friends. (Regal rose is the pink colour, in case you were wondering!)

Here is a card I created way back in August before the Colour Renovation. It was a challenge using only the colours that weren't retiring but not having access to the new colours yet - BUT of course it meant I came up with a new colour combination!
Baha breeze, Perfect plum and Crumb cake! I had really only used perfect plum with pale plum before so didn't really know what else it might go well with. I think it goes quite well with baha breeze so was happy with this card.
I hope you like it too!
Here is one of the first cards I created with the Bella toile background stamp. The greeting says "Thanks" but it didn't photograph well. The pink pirouette ink is just a bit too pale in this light.
I gathered the pink taffeta ribbon by snipping the end in half and pulling one thread - a bit tricky but worth the effort I think!

The pink theme of this card reminds me of the Girls Night In that I am holding on Saturday 23 October at 7.30pm to raise money for women's cancer. If you would like to come along just let me know.

This is a card I designed for a very good friend (Hi Sharon!) using the lovely stamp set, A Rose is a rose. I stamped the large rose image on the base with versamark ink and embossed it using clear embossing powder, so it is shiny! It looks better in real life than in this photo (sorry!)
The rose bud is actually 3 images stamped separately (three step stamping!). The stem and leaves are stamped in sahara sand ink then the bud is stamped in rich razzleberry ink. I first 'stamp off' the base bud (on scrap paper) so it is lighter in colour, then overstamp with the bud 'top' with full strength ink.
There is also alot of 'sponging of the edges' of all the pieces of card to soften all the edges and give the card a move vintage feel. If you would like to learn more about 'sponging the edges' why not sign up for my newsletter (box at top left of my blog). This was the technique I explained in detail in my last newsletter.

It uses the stack of presents from the "Happy Moments" Sale-a-bration stamp set. You can get this stamp set FREE if you spend $100 on Stampin' Up! products before then end of March 2010. Just email me if you would like to place an order.
I have used dazzling diamonds glitter to really make the present sparkle. It was coloured in first using ink pads and an aquapainter, so the colour is not too bold.
The small strip of card that also has glitter is the left over piece from using the eyelet border punch on the piece of card. A great way to use up this scrap! I sponged it with ink and then added the glitter with a 2-way glue pen.

The images are from the lovely "embrace life" stamp set. I have used the Stampin' Write makers to ink up the main image so it is two tone.

Here is a card I made to demonstrate "Two step stamping".
Two step stamping is when you stamp a 'base image' initially onto your card then stamp an "overlay image" directly over the top of the base image. In this case I stamped the polka dot petals from the Pick a Petal stamp set then stamped the outline petals directly over the top.
I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig (stamp positioning tool from Stampin Up!)to help me to line up the overlay petals exactly. The two step stamping creates an image with depth and makes it really 'pop' from the card.
It is a simple card, but quite striking. The colour 'Pacific point' really assists in making a statement. Some silver brads and a flower filigree brad in the centre of the flower finsh off the card. Of course there are a few punches used too! The wide oval punch is great to frame the large oval.
