I Completed a Scrapbook Layout!

 

It has been a while since I completed a double layout, and I so enjoyed doing it!  I really need to make more time to scrapbook the cherished moments of my family - so they can enjoy them for years to come - and the fact that I get to enjoy myself in the process is an added bonus!

This layout is based on a sketch by Becky Higgins (how I begin most of my pages!).  I find using a sketch a great way to start, then I add the details and embellishments. 

I stamped the 'polka dot background' to make my own patterned card and I just had to use a new set from the Summer Mini Catalogue - "In the Stars" - a great sets with 7 different stars and a greeting.  I have added lots of stars that I punched out using both the star punches. 

The large '7' is a chipboard number which I used a sponge dauber and ink pad to colour - then edged it with whisper white ink to make it stand out a bit more.  The main colours are wild wasabi and creamy caramel.  Here are some close ups:

The Alternate Make and Takes!

These are the make and takes of the demonstrators on the recent Australian Incentive Trip that were guests of achieving demonstrators.  We had our own Make and Take session on Friday morning when all the achieving demonstrators were participating in the session run by Stampin' Up! on the trip.

Myself (Joanna Wassens), Julia Quinn, Jane Reynolds and Ros Oakes all congregated in my room for our 'alternate' stamping session.  We had lots of fun and each brought along a make and take for the other 3.  Julia, actually brought along 2 because she is so generous!  Thanks Julia!

I love all of them but espcially love the 6x6 page that Julia designed for us, because it has means I have another layout completed!  They seem to be few and far between these days.  Here is a close up - the photo is only 3 years old - but a nice one to have displayed.

It was so nice to meet all of these ladies and spend some time creating and having fun.  What would a Stampin' Up! gathering be without stamping!

Simple Scrapbook Page

That's right Merryl (and all you others who know how long it has been since I scrapbooked!) I have completed a double layout!!

A simple layout, but a layout none the less!  This is a double layout from a sketch by Becky Higgins.  Using a sketch as the starting point makes it so much easier.  This was a challenge from a customer of mine (Hi Debbie!) - to create a scrapbook double layout using this sketch and the following colours:  Night of navy, bashful blue, real red and whisper white.

I think it turned out OK and I hope Uncle Iggy likes it too!

Details

Stamps:  Big Deal Alphabet, Seeing spots, Little pieces.

Ink:  Night of navy, bashful blue, real red

Cardstock:  Night of navy, bashful blue, whisper white, real red, vellum.

Accessories:  red grosgrain riboon, staple, tag punch, dotto, 1 3/8th inch square punch, 1 1/4 inch square punch, paper snips.

6x6 scrapbook pages

This is a 6x6 double layout for an album I am helping out with.

Dave Abbott the GM of Stampin' Up! Australia past away last week leaving behind his wonderful wife and their 3 small children.  I attended his funeral on Monday.  It was a very moving day with some lovely eulogies by his brother in law and best friend.  Dave was a very special man who touched a lot of people in his 41 years. I had the privilege of getting to know Dave and his wife on the recent Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Port Douglas.  He will be greatly missed.

The pages above are for an album for one of his children.  An album is being created for each of his children so they can fill it with photos and memories of their Dad.  I am just one of a team of Demonstrators who are helping to compile them.  We hope they will become treasured albums in the years to come.
