Pocket Silhouettes 4 Square Card!

 

Here is a card that I was inspired to create from a swap I received at Stampin' Up! convention from Sue Madex.  Thanks Sue! 

I have changed the colours, added patterned paper (the lovely Raspberry Tart) and ribbon and used some punches (eyelet border and small oval) so it is quite a different card now - but the basic sketch of the card is still the same!

This card may be familiar to some of you because you got to create it at my demonstrations in May as your 'make and take'.

Bushfire Appeal Update

Stampin' Up! have just announced that they will be able to donate $15,744.85 to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal (this is the tally so far - it will rise until the end of March)  This amount was reached in a little over a week and is just amazing.  A big 'thank you' to all those who purchased the select sets on the Stampin' Up! Bushfire Appeal list.

Remember this appeal runs until the end of March.  Here is the information again:

Stampin' Up! Australia have announced a bushfire appeal, to assist the victims of the Victorian bushfires.

I have been away on holiday and enjoying a bit of time away from Stamping during the Christmas break.  Hence my lack of updating my blog!

I did get a chance to play with a new set from the Summer Mini Catalogue however (thanks to Michelle for lending it to me!), Embrace Life.  A lovely set that is now firmly on the top of my wish list.

I just can't thank you enough!

 

I just can't thank you enough for bearing with me and my lack of posts during November!

It has been a busy time in our household.  My parents came to visit from NZ and I have also been involved in the organisation and publicity for our local school's Twilight Country Fair.  The fair and fireworks display were held last Saturday - so life is slowly getting back to normal!  It was a huge success and that has made all the hard work by everyone involved worthwhile. 

So, hopefully now, I can get back to some card making and maybe even some scrapbooking!

It is an exciting time in the Stampin' Up! world!  The Spring Mini Catalogue is finishing in a few days (30 November) and the Summer Mini Catalogue begins on 1 December.

It is that time of year again! Big Bold Birthday Card

 

Here is a card I created with the 'Big Bold Birthday' stamp set.  It is a great set with 13 images in it and it happens to be on special this month (October Birthday Promotion 2008), if you spend $20 on regular catalogue merchandise you can get it for only $43.16, instead of the normal $53.95, quite a saving! 

To create the two tone presents I used the rock 'n' roll technique.  First inking the stamp in certainly celery ink then rolling it in the brocade blue ink, so only the edges become blue.  I have also masked the two outer presents, prior to stamping the center present, to make it appear as if it is behind the other two.
